Home Help

At Upstairs and Downstairs we have been looking after some of our Elderly clients for a long time and it has become clear that after a while some may need help of a different kind. We get to know our clients very well and we can offer short-term assistance or long term aid until a decision has been made about future care.                                                                                                                                                             We have staff who are allocated solely to attend to our Home Help clients and they can visit several times a day to help with preparing meals and ensuring medicines have been taken regularly, doing the shopping, undertaking jobs around the house including doing the washing and making the beds and helping clients when they need to attend appointments.

We can liaise with family, doctor or district nurses and generally help our clients to stay in their own home for longer. To ensure that this is done to the best possible standard we are now applying for CQC registration and are ensuring that all new staff will undertake the NVQ qualifications in care level 2 or 3.
